Random Acts of Flowers

Random Acts of Flowers improves the emotional health and wellbeing of individuals in healthcare facilities by delivering recycled flowers, encouragement and personal moments of kindness.

As we go about our mission we also reduce waste from lightly used and unsold flowers and other floral materials, including vases, bows and other floral materials and composting any green waste.

I never go there without a smile. Volunteering with RAF keeps my hands in dirt and flowers, my mind up to speed with other sharp friends so I go to RAF with a smile, I give my smile away and hang on to smiles from others and then we get to pack the smiles up and pass them on to others. GO RAF!!!”

I am a 24-year-old Cystic Fibrosis patient on the list for a double-lung transplant. Today I got a little knock on my hospital door. On the other side was a lovely woman who delivered me such a beautiful, surprise bouquet of flowers. It was so wonderful, and so very unexpected. The thoughtful gift was a ray of sunshine in my day. Peace and love.

While recuperating from cancer surgery, a kind person delivered a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Except for my husband’s flowers, yours were the only others I received. Flowers are a reminder of new life and these came at a time I needed the encouragement.

My grandmother received a beautiful bouquet from you all the day before she passed. It meant so much to our family and now I am seeing on the news how you recycled bouquets for the bus crash victims. I feel like God is leading me and I would really like some information on how to volunteer with your organization. Thank you for all the smiles that you deliver!

On behalf of my mother at Elmcroft, she was so thrilled to receive her flowers from you guys a few weeks ago. She spent some time every day trying to keep them looking beautiful. Thank you for taking the time, the resources, and compassion to share a little happiness.

RAF recycles and repurposes flowers and vases donated by the community. We reuse every flower, stem, stand, pick, foam, wire and basket – nothing is spared and every donation helps bring a smile to another person in the community. We also regularly hold vase drives and volunteers recycle thousands of vases every month. Do we need flowers and vases…YES! Find out what types of donations we take and learn how you can make a difference.
