volunteer
When it comes to making an impact in our community, we wouldn’t be able to do it without the dedication and devotion of our volunteers. Volunteers repurpose donated flowers from special events, memorial services, grocery stores, and wholesalers to turn what would otherwise be waste into something fresh and meaningful! When you volunteer with us, expect to have fun, meet new people, be creative, and bring smiles to our community!
Group and individual volunteer opportunities are available, scroll down to learn more!

group volunteering
Random Acts of Flowers is a fun way for organizations or groups to give back to their communities. For a nominal contribution, the following group programs are available to enhance team building and employee engagement while making a meaningful impact.
Engage your group in a customizable and unique team-building experience that acquaints your team with all aspects of RAF’s mission and has a lasting impact on the community. Days of Service take place during our regular mission days and are personalized for your group.
A full day of service (1-20 people) includes:
- Organizational overview
- Floral prep and design mini-lesson
- 1-2 hours of floral prep and arranging
- Lunch break
- Floral delivery at a healthcare facility
A half-day of service (1-20 people) includes:
- Organizational overview
- Floral design mini-lesson with 2-3 hours of arranging.
Group days of service come with a required service fee which goes directly to Random Acts of Flowers program support, helping us continue our mission of delivering kindness and connection through flowers. To learn more, contact Ally Slavick, Executive Director, at ally@rafknoxville.org.
Alternative, unpaid group activities are also available depending on the workshop’s current needs. These opportunities can include:
- Floral Prep Shifts: These shifts are available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and involve prepping flowers for arrangements. Trimming and unboxing flowers, composting greenery past its date and sorting the blooms by color and variety.
- Vase Drives or Vase Decorating: This can be a fun off-site activity that your group can do at your own location. Either hold a vase drive to donate back to RAF or come pick up vases that your team can creative decorate!
- Facility Beautification and Mission Support Tasks: There are the continuous projects around our facility that help keep us running smoothly and looking great such as breaking down boxes, taking out compost, sweeping, opening flower packets, and more.
