A local nonprofit has a mission to put smiles on people’s faces.
Random Acts of Flowers, which in April opened a Silicon Valley branch in Menlo Park — its only chapter west of Chicago — creates floral arrangements using repurposed flowers and delivers them to assisted-living facilities and hospitals. The flowers are donated by local vendors such as Trader Joe’s, Costco and Whole Foods, sponsored by local businesses who purchase delivery cards, and are arranged by volunteers at its office on Edison Way.
