Driving up to the quiet, industrial building on Evanston’s Greenleaf Avenue, I realize I really need to pay closer attention, for the building’s exterior offers little hint of the magic within.
Inside, a seamless orchestration of weekly volunteers deconstructs and reassembles hundreds of brilliant, donated flower arrangements. Every finished bouquet, accompanied by a hand-signed card and delivered to Chicagoland health facilities, is the direct result of someone who once paid very close attention. That person is Larsen Jay, co-founder and CEO of Random Acts of Flowers, and this is the organization’s Chicagoland branch.
